The Aston Martin Valhalla stands as the brand's most technically advanced production car, bringing Formula 1 racing technology to Canadian roads....

Aston Martin is the latest of the great supercar brands to take the plunge and offer an SUV. While for some, this may be a departure from tradition, it must also be seen as forward-thinking, because it's with this kind of innovation that other traditions are born.
Did we talk about heresy, in 1974, when we launched the Lagonda sedan, which was different and is now sought after by collectors? You have to be of your time.
And you have to be honest, because when it comes to style, the DBX is definitely one of the best-looking SUVs on the market, regardless of the brand.
Here are three interesting things about it.
Not a Mercedes-Benz
We know that Aston Martin has Mercedes-Benz as a partner. It would have been easy for the British firm to dip into the German company's platform catalog to save money. This was not the case. The DBX benefits from its own platform, which makes its DNA purely Aston Martin. Where Mercedes-Benz came in to help is by providing the twin-turbocharged V8 engine, nine-speed transmission, 4Matic all-wheel drive, electronic architecture, and multimedia system.
In short, you get the best of both worlds.
More power
To manage the extra weight of the model compared to the Vantage, which has the same engine, for example, engineers reworked the mechanics to spice up its performance. The twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 is now rated at 542 horsepower (up 39) and 516 pound-feet of torque (up 10) to deliver a level of performance in line with the brand's reputation.
And what does that mean for 0-97 km/h? A time of only 4 seconds. With this kind of performance, it's impossible not to feel like you're driving an Aston Martin product.
Driving a car?
With an SUV, the price to pay is often the driving experience. While it's nice to hear that you'll get a car-like feeling, it's rarely the case.
The exception here is the rule. The DBX reacts like any Aston Martin vehicle by offering incisive handling. And to add weight to that statement, Motor Trend magazine, in its testing of the model, confirmed that it offered the same kind of performance as a Porsche Cayenne when pushed to its limits.
When someone compares the driving experience of one of your vehicles to that of a Porsche model, you've done your homework.
