All about the new 2022 Aston Martin DBX707

When Aston Martin introduced its first SUV last year, it shocked the automotive world. We never thought we'd see the supercar brand offer a utility vehicle.

But they did, and now the world is thanking them for it. The DBX is more than an SUV; it's a genuine Aston Martin product.

And this year, the company is back at it again with the addition of a high-performance version, the DBX707. With this one, the capabilities are pushed to another level. Considering that it was already spectacular, you should be prepared to be amazed by the new version.

Positioned above the regular DBX, the DBX 707 version will benefit from an improved variant of the 4-liter turbo V8 that powers it. And work has been done at Aston Martin to take this Mercedes engine to another level. For example, the engine uses new ball-bearing turbochargers and combined with a completely revised calibration, the capacity has been increased to 697 horsepower. That's 155 more than the base version, which puts this variation above such offerings as the Bentley Bentayga W12 Speed (626 horsepower), the Lamborghini Urus (641 horsepower) and even the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid (670 horsepower).

Torque has also jumped to a whopping 663 lb-ft, much more than the 516 of the "base" version. The nine-speed automatic transmission of the regular version is also replaced by another nine-speed transmission, this time from AMG. It promises quicker responses, taking advantage of a wet clutch instead of a torque converter. In terms of performance, Aston Martin promises a 0-97 km/h time of 3.1 seconds, which is incredible for an SUV.

For stopping, the DBX 707 has carbon-ceramic brakes with huge 16.5-inch discs up front and 15.4-inch discs in the back. As for the wheels, they are 22 inches with the base model configuration, but 23-inch units will be offered as an option. Pirelli tires will be fitted around them.

Aesthetically, it will be possible to clearly differentiate the 707 version thanks to a larger front bumper, as well as a larger grille. A massive diffuser will be visible at the rear, as well as four exhaust tips at the back.

On board, the model will benefit from sport seats specific to the version, but the softer, more comfortable buckets of the regular version will be available as an option, free of charge. And to keep things simple and ideal for driving, the controls for the adaptive suspension, stability system, active exhaust system and gearbox are made up of easy-to-use and well-arranged switches.

Be on the lookout for the model's debut later this spring.
