Three Key Things to Know About the 2020 Aston Martin DBX
The DBX is Aston Martin’s first SUV, bringing Aston Martin DNA into a new form. It does this in such a spectacular way that it has earned the initials of David Brown, whose vision brought the company to prominence. The DBX shares the ultimate in comfort, luxury, and performance as it bonds to its driver. There is much to know about this new platform, but there are three key areas that make the DBX one of the most unique SUVs on the planet.
The Aston Martin DBX has true sports car power – with a carbon fibre driveshaft!
The DBX’s lightweight construction, which includes a bonded aluminium body shell and aluminium and composite body panels, combines with a world-class engine and powertrain to deliver sports car performance. This starts with an all-alloy 4.0-litre, eight-cylinder twin turbo engine that achieves 542 hp and 516 lb-ft of maximum torque. It reaches 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 181mph. With this power and acceleration, the DBX earns a place among elite vehicles.
The drivetrain comprises precision and efficiency. A nine-speed automatic transmission with an electronic shift-by-wire control system uses select gear ratios for optimum shifting and acceleration. Power is then managed by an electronic active transfer case and sent to a one-piece carbon fibre propeller shaft and electronic rear limited-slip differential. Specially designed 22" wheels handle everything the motor and drivetrain deliver.
The 2020 DBX had six drive modes for an optimal experience
Aston Martin harnesses the power of the DBX into an exhilarating driving experience. Six adaptive drive modes (four on-road, two off-road) present several options to suit your driving mood. Electric, speed-dependent steering stays responsive throughout the driving cycle and provides a new level of agility. The adaptive triple chamber air suspension adds comfort as the independent double wishbone and multi-link suspension diminish the road’s imperfections.
It offers great cargo space
Aside from its power and driving experience, the third key thing you need to know about is the DBX’s long list of premium equipment. This includes: full grain leather interior trim; Alcantara headlining and a panoramic roof blind; piano black wood veneer trim; brightware; heated front and rear seats; premium sound and safety technologies; signature LED exterior lighting; power folding and heated door mirrors; and much more.
But what is really pleasant is that the DBX, with its supercar-like performances and handling, can store a whole lot of luggage with 632 litres behind the rear seats!
