The New Aston Martin DBR22 is the Latest Model from the Q Division

Q by Aston Martin has a tradition of building exclusive limited production models based on Aston Martin vehicles and the new Aston Martin DBR22 is the latest example.

This concept is a two-seat mid-engine roadster that blends the brand’s heritage and its future by combining a design inspired by Aston Martin race cars of the 60s and materials that have yet to be used so extensively in production vehicles.

Despite being a concept, this model will be available to a very select group of buyers, which will make it one of the rarest Aston Martin vehicles ever made.

In addition to its sculpted body, the DBR22 is identifiable by its front grille that replaces the veins found on the brand’s production models with a bespoke carbon fiber element inspired by the grilles on the classic DBR1 and DB3S race cars.

At the rear, the two nacelles that stretch from the seats down to the extremity of the car create a very distinctive look in addition to serving the aerodynamic purpose for which they were used on classic race cars.

The taillamp is a wide light bar that was created exclusively for the Aston Martin DBR22 by following a similar design as the one found on the DBX, with the middle part slightly elevated from the two outer parts.

Under this taillamp is a grille that helps exhaust the heat generated in the engine compartment during spirited driving.

The Aston Martin DBR22 features a rear mid-mounted 5,2L V12 engine that is helped by two turbochargers in order to deliver 715 PS and 753 Nm of torque, which is sufficient to propel the DBR22 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in only 3,4 seconds and continue accelerating towards a top speed of 198 mph (319 km/h).

Inside, the Aston Martin DBR22 is also very distinctive but also thoroughly modern since it makes extensive use of carbon fiber to create a very solid cockpit that is also impressively light. Married with the leather covering the seats and parts of the center console, this gives a look of refinement and performance to the interior that matches the image created by the outside.
