The 2020 Aston Martin DBX is all about technology
Aston Martin's first SUV, the DBX, wasn't planned overnight. It took time to craft an SUV that upholds the luxury and performance traditions of the brand. However, the DBX also comes out ahead in one other important category: technology. Here, we explore the innovations that are standard and available on each DBX.
High tech adds safety to every trip in the Aston Martin
The DBX's high tech technology begins with its safety features. Standard in each model is a 360-degree camera system that provides a complete view of obstructions, pedestrians, etc. around the vehicle. Front and rear parking sensors also alert you to hazards that appear too close to the DBX's bumpers. Each model includes a tracking system, allowing you or the authorities to find the vehicle should it become missing or misplaced.
The Aston Martin DBX enhances your driving experience with advanced technology
Engineers went above and beyond when design the DBX’s powertrain and chassis. Using the state of the art 4.0-litre twincharged V8 engine from the DB11 and Vantage that develops 550 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque and adapting it to the DBX, they perfectly paired it to the 9-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel drive system with active differentials featuring an active central differential and an electronic rear limited slip differential (eDiff).
On the chassis side, the height adjustable air suspension has been combined with a state of the art 48v electric anti-roll control system (eARC) and electronic adaptive dampers to provide the new SUV with a unparalleled handling capabilities. With its capacity to raise the ride height by 45mm or lower it by 50mm, the suspension on the DBX is truly revolutionary.
The DBX also includes four adaptive drive modes (four on-road, 2 off-road) that intelligently sets power, traction, suspension and other functions. Whether you are looking for a safer, more powerful or fun driving experience, the technology-driven driving modes make it happen with a turn of a knob.
High tech goes beyond safety and adds to the driving experience with a suite of connectivity, entertainment, and other features. The center console features a 10.25-inch touchscreen with access to Bluetooth connectivity, audio streaming, satellite navigation system, Apple CarPlay, and much more.
The Aston Martin Premium Audio System provides 800 watts of power through 14 premium speakers. This optimizes your AM/FM/DAB radio, streaming, SiriusXM, or other sound sources you choose. Standard voice control makes operating many of these functions convenient and safer.
As you keep your eyes on the road, the 10.25" central instrument display makes checking readouts an easier task with the ergonomic placement of information. These and other interior high tech features help you experience driving in a different, personalized way.
