The Aston Martin DBX, Aston Martin’s first sport utility vehicle, is expected to begin production very soon after production was halted because of the coronavirus pandemic. According to Aston Martin Executive Chairman Lawrence Stroll, production could resume in May.
"Our most pressing objective is to plan to restart our manufacturing operations, particularly to start production of the brand's first SUV, the DBX, and to bring the organization back to full operating life," Stroll told Automotive News Europe.
The DBX was the largest new vehicle launch in the history of Aston Martin and plans to bring it to customers are well underway. The Aston Martin DBX will eventually be offered in a wide range of models including a hybrid and a V12-powered AMR model. The DBX should quickly become Aston Martin’s best-selling model.
