2020 Aston Martin DBX vs 2020 Lamborghini Urus

The 2020 DBX is Aston Martin’s grand entry into the SUV world. Inside and out, the DBX bears many of Aston Martin’s common traits, but this model also reminds occupants that it is designed around them, featuring an unforgettably spacious and comfortable SUV-styled interior. Here, we compare it to a new competitor—the Lamborghini Urus. 

The 2020 Aston Martin DBX is more luxurious, and less expensive than the Urus

The DBX is a smooth and sophisticated SUV on the outside. It also reveals traits that distinctly make it an Aston Martin, such as the famous Aston-styled grille.

On the other hand, the Urus is very aggressive and edgy in appearance..  It’s a risky design and may not be for everyone. 

Moreover, the DBX’s starting price is lower than the Urus, at $218,400 instead of $252,000.

The 2020 Aston Martin has elegant power and unique technologies

The DBX features an all-alloy 4.0-litre, eight-cylinder twin turbo engine that performs to 550 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. This places the DBX’s top speed at 291 km/h. 

The Lamborghini Urus may have more power and torque. However, there aren’t many places where you will need to reach 0-100 km/h between 4.5 seconds (DBX) or 3.5 seconds (Urus). Essentially, both vehicles represent the top end of a handful of performance SUVs. 

The DBX also features a nine-speed automatic transmission with an electronic shift-by-wire control system uses select gear ratios for optimum shifting and acceleration. The Urus degrades to an eight-speed automatic transmission that is less comfortable on the road.

But the real edge is the DBX’s chassis technologies, it features the height adjustable air suspension combined with a state of the art 48v electric anti-roll control system (eARC) and electronic adaptive dampers that provide unprecedented handling capabilities. With its capacity to raise the ride height by 45mm or lower it by 50mm, the suspension on the DBX’s chassis surpasses any of the Urus’s capabilities.

The 2020 Aston Martin DBX is a true SUV inside

The DBX features class-leading interior space that the Urus (expectedly) doesn’t live up to. With 632 litres of available boot space and 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats, it stands true to its SUV intentions. The rest of the interior focuses on sophistication, specification, and equal comfort for driver and all passengers.
