Aston Martin: the five most beautiful models in the brand's history

When it comes to the Aston Martin brand, several things come to mind, including the fact that the company offers us cars with breathtaking designs. And the fact that a certain character named James Bond used to drive one.

But Aston Martin is more than that. It's also a brand that's more than a century old. Did you know that?

Of course, with so much history, there have been some spectacular models. Identifying the five most beautiful vehicles is not an easy task, but here is a list of interesting candidates.

DB4GT Zagato

The GT Zagato version of the DB4 is definitely one of the rarest and most expensive Aston Martins on the market. So much so that there is a market that transforms the DB4 into a Zagato version. The latter had a different rear end with more curved fender flares and a more receding line.

The car was equipped with a 3.7-liter inline 6-cylinder engine with 314 horsepower, which was huge for the time. It sold for about $18,000 US and is worth several million today.

DB5

How can we not include in this list the DB5, the iconic car of the James Bond movie series. This piece of course became very famous due to its role in the movies, which has pushed its value into the millions today. Aston Martin even offered replicas a few years ago.

But beyond all that, if you simply take the time to look at its lines, only one conclusion is possible; this is one of the most beautiful cars in automotive history.

V8 Vantage

When it was introduced in 1977, the V8 Vantage, which had its origins in the original DBS, was the most powerful car on the planet, which only helped create its myth. Its styling was different too, but still spectacular. With muscle car looks, the V8 Vantage featured a 5.3-liter V8 with 380 horsepower. By the end of its production run, its engine offered 438 horsepower.

DB7

The DB7 had a career of about 10 years, from 1994 to 2004. The car is of course spectacular, whether it's a coupe or a convertible, but it's the role it played within the company that makes it so mythical. In fact, in the opinion of many, Aston Martin might not exist anymore if this car had not been created.

In all, 7000 examples were produced before the DB9 came to replace it. Also note that while a 3.2-liter 6-cylinder engine was initially offered, 6-liter V12 versions were later added to the family.

DBS

Here's another design marvel... and another star of the James Bond films, specifically Casino Royale where the model is central to the plot. In everyday life, the DBS was the most powerful car at the time, with a 6-liter V12 engine and 510 horsepower that allowed it to do 0-100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.

Of course, we forget a lot of models, like the Lagonda, or the Atom concept of 1939 which gave us a glimpse of the style to come at Aston Martin.

In truth, with so many classics offered over the years, we could have several different lists of the most beautiful models in the history of the brand.

A nice problem.
